Abstract: Director Joel Crawford and Production Designer Nate Wragg share insights and details on how they designed and produced The Croods: A New Age, the just-released DreamWorks Animation animated comedy adventure sequel to their 2013 hit animated comedy adventure, The Croods.
Speaker(s) Bio:
Joel Crawford is an alumnus of Cal Arts and a DreamWorks Animation veteran, having joined the studio in 2006. He’s been a story artist on a long, distinguished list of projects, including Trolls, Kung Fu Panda 1,2 and 3, Shrek Forever After and Rise of the Guardians. He also directed the 2017 Trolls Holiday Special which aired on NBC.
Nate Wragg was also a student at Cal Arts before beginning a career that has seen him work as a production designer, art director, character designer and vizdev artist on films like Ratatouille, Toy Story 3, Puss in Boots and The Croods. He was also the production designer on one last year’s animated adventure, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.
