Join us and be a part of the Student Volunteer Program at SIGGRAPH Asia 2020!
Hello Students!
On behalf of SIGGRAPH Asia 2020's Student Volunteer Program, I warmly invite you to participate at SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 as a Student Volunteer. Due to the Covid-19 situation, the event will now be held on a fully virtual platform. Nevertheless, student volunteers are still essential as a part of our core support structure. We are currently finalizing the details and requirements for the virtual support team, and will be able to share the detailed scope of work in the weeks to come.
Whether it's the way we are thinking, working, playing or creating, these are all impacted by the amazing advancements seen in the computer graphics industry. SIGGRAPH Asia has been able to introduce these cutting-edge developments to the world for the past years, and this year will be just the same!
As a Student Volunteer, you are invited to volunteer 20 hours of service in support of a variety of conference programs such as Computer Animation Festival, Emerging Technologies and Technical Papers among others. Beyond supporting the Conference as a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to meet and learn from professionals, creators, educators and visionaries who help to turn dreams into reality. Additionally, the benefits you receive as Student Volunteers include a Full Conference pass to use during your free time and exclusive access to Student Volunteer special sessions.
Please note that application has opened and we ask that you check the eligibility criteria before you apply. Application deadlines are 8 August 2020, 23:59 UTC/GMT for Student Volunteers applications, and 30 June 2020, 23:59 UTC/GMT for Team Leader and SV Productions Team applications. Applications are submitted using the 'Student Volunteer' option of the 'Make a New Submission' tab on SIGGRAPH Asia 2020's Submission Site at https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/siggraphasia/.

As the details of this virtual experience are resolved, the exact dates and format will be revealed in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for updates below.
Due to the high volume of applicants, we regret that we cannot accept any late applications.
Please comply with the submission deadlines and ensure that you submit your application by the appropriate day and time. We cannot make any exceptions for students due to miscalculation of the application deadline. Thank you for your understanding.

Interested students are required to complete the application and upload proof of their full-time student status (valid student ID, transcript, or proof of enrolment, etc. - please see the eligibility criteria below).

Submission Deadlines and Outcomes
Acceptance and Deployment
General Matters
The deadline for all student volunteer applications has been extended to 8 August 2020, 23:59 UTC/GMT; applicants are responsible for their application status, and only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete submissions will not be considered and all submissions must be made online. You are encouraged to submit early to allow time for unforeseen circumstances that may delay your submission, including problems with your internet connection.
SIGGRAPH Asia is only responsible for the availability of the submission server. If the Student Volunteer Program Chair is notified of a hardware or service failure in the submission system, they will authorize an appropriate adjustment and inform applicants via the SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 website. All other network failures between an applicant's location and the SIGGRAPH server will not exempt them from deadline-related obligations. Note that the local clock on the submission server determines the final submission deadline time.
All applicants who submit a completed application will be notified of their application's status via email around 9 August 2020, 23:59 UTC/GMT. Team leaders will be notified around 8 June 2020, 23:59 UTC/GMT.
You can change your contact information using the online system at any time.
Yes and you may continue editing it until the submission deadline.
If you need to decline your position for any reason, please send an email to the Student Volunteer Program Chair as soon as possible so that we can make alternative arrangements.
We are currently finalizing the details and requirements for the virtual support team, and will be able to share the detailed scope of work in the weeks to come.
Team leader's tasks, beyond usual student volunteer tasks, include leading and coordinating student volunteers in their respective areas and coordinating volunteer duties with the SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 Conference Committee members who oversee venues over the course of the Conference. Team leaders also aid in training and supervising student volunteers, as well as assisting the organizers, other committee volunteers and attendees.
Yes. As one of the perks of being a Student Volunteer, you will have the equivalent of a Full Conference registration, so you will be able to go almost anywhere in the conference. The exhibition hall and most of the conference will be open to you during your free time.
Please send an email to the Student Volunteer Program Chair and they will reply to you as soon as possible. Should your question apply to other student volunteers as well, we will post your question, the answer to it, and other additional information on the web site.
All deadlines are 23:59 UTC/GMT.
